This Small Wedding on the Beach in Florida Will Make You Want to Elope
Some wedding days are big and elaborate. Others are soft and simple. Just you, your person, and the sound of the waves in the background. This small wedding on the beach in Siesta Key, Florida, was all about the real moments and the feeling of love in the air.
Even though this was a styled shoot, it had all the heart of a real celebration. Sydney and Alex stepped in as models (after finding my Facebook post!), but it turned into so much more, a gift they didn’t know they needed.
After ten years together, they’d never had professional photos done. No engagement session, no big fancy wedding plans, just a quiet kind of love that runs deep. Getting to capture that for them was pure magic.
Planning a Styled Shoot That Felt Like Real Love
This session came together thanks to a little creativity and collaboration. My sister-in-law and I planned it with the hope of showing just how beautiful a small beach wedding in Florida can be and to help couples imagine what their own day could look like.
Sydney was everything I envisioned and more. Not only did she have the perfect look, but she was so sweet and deserving of this experience. Jena from Tousled Beauty Co. worked her magic on hair and truly made Sydney feel like a beachy bridal goddess. (The braid, the florals, the waves, it was giving ethereal island queen.)
She wore a white gown from Lulu’s that moved beautifully in the breeze, and we caught golden hour just in time. The January weather was a mild, around 71 degrees, and the skies were painted with pastel sunset hues.
A Siesta Key Elopement Dream
This was a simple, in-the-moment, just-the-two-of-us styled elopement — showing how your day can have no strict timeline and no stress. Just two people barefoot in the sand, wrapped up in each other and totally present.
They danced, laughed, and thanked us (more than once) for making them feel comfortable and celebrated. And that’s what makes intimate beach weddings so special. Just because your day is smaller doesn’t mean it can’t hold the kind of memories that feel just as meaningful.
Why Small Weddings on the Beach Are So Worth It
Here’s the thing: you don’t need a hundred guests or a ballroom to make it official. You just need your person, a pretty dress, and a location that feels like you.
Siesta Key Beach, Florida (recently voted the number one beach in the USA) is the perfect place for couples dreaming of an intimate beach wedding. Whether you’re eloping with just the two of you, or planning a micro wedding with your closest people, it can be as simple or styled as you want. I can help you customize everything to fit your vibe, from vendor recommendations to location scouting and timeline planning.
The Sweetest Feedback
After the shoot, Sydney sent me this message, and it completely filled my heart:
“Christy is amazing! From the moment we started planning our session to the very last shot, she made the entire experience so fun and effortless… Jena made my hair look like a real-life princess, and Christy made sure every detail stayed picture-perfect the entire time. Every photo was stunning and brought us right back to how we felt that day.”
